I had a great time with the family, ate lots of ham, mashed potatoes, salad and other goodies. I love the holiday season! Tomorrow is Black Friday, how will you spend it? I am going to be hanging around the house doing some work that needs to be finished. I hate crowds, long lines and loud people, so I will be staying away from the stores tomorrow. Though I think I may get my car washed, it is in dire need of one.

Happy Thanksgiving!
Thursday, November 26th, 2009Rapid Changes, For the Best
Thursday, November 26th, 2009So I have been busy phasing myself out of my business / partner situation for the past couple weeks because I accepted a job offer that I received through a good friend. The position met all my requirements to leave my three years of trying to build a business for a steady income, excellent benefits and a comfortable workplace.
I had the pleasure of being trained by the previous IT Manager for the past week or so, it really went well, he was very thorough, answered all questions and even said I can call him for help if I am stuck. I find that commitment near and dear to me because I would do the same for someone else who would be transitioning in to my position. So my position is Director of Information Technology and I get to manage a network of 60+ users (and growing). My first official full day of work is this coming Monday and it is going to be a trip I am sure, but I am excited for it, and I am going to work my ass off.
Next Friday Cindy and I will be getting married at the court house then we are having a small party with family on Saturday to celebrate. Afterwards we will be going on our much anticipated honeymoon / vacation cruise, we are stoked for it!
So yeah, lots of stuff going on but all good.
My Work Ethics, Best at Night
Wednesday, November 11th, 2009I know there are people out there who are like me, you work best at night in front of your own computer in the place you call home. I do not know why I work better at night, but I just do. Even if I stay home a day and do development work during the day I cannot stay focused, but as soon as it is after 2PM or 3PM I can just crank away. I guess it is cool though, because I am so immersed in my code, getting things done, I can work until 2AM. That gives me a good 12 hours of productivity, and I can still make a few bucks during the day.
My biggest issue is that after a day or two of working that way, it really messes up my sleep schedule, so I have to pace it. I just wish I could be as productive from 8AM until 9PM or 10PM, because then I would really get things done and be able to keep a decent sleep schedule. I still have a lot of work to do though, so I get to wear myself ragged for a few more weeks until I can get out on vacation. It is okay though, finishing these projects means getting paid and I could use some more cash!
Well, not really sure where I was trying to go with all that, but I do find it interesting how my brain works. I need to find a way to unlock it and become productive 16 to 18 hours a day, everyday. Who knows, sleep deprivation talking / typing I guess.
So In a Month…
Wednesday, November 4th, 2009I will be getting married to Cindy, on our 5 year anniversary. It is exciting! We have been through a lot… The good, bad and the ugly, but in the end everything has worked out to our benefit and only made us stronger. We are getting married in the Court on the Friday and having a small, family only reception on the Saturday
After we get married and have our reception we are going on a 7-day cruise, the Mexican Riviera. I have been on it before with my family and it was a blast; we did not do much but it was still really cool. This time, since it is just Cindy and I, we are planning on taking advantage of a great deal of the on-board activitiesand we even signed up for some onshore activities to see more of the areas of Mexico we will be visiting. The cities we will get to see are Puerto Villarta, Mazatlan and Cabo San Lucas. I am really looking forward to all of this because it will let me focus on life, rather than business and all the bureaucracy and asshole (unpaying) customer bullshit.
Anyway, that is the news.
