Been a While, Now I am Married

Wednesday, December 16th, 2009

The party came and past, and quite quickly. Cindy and I got married at our Civil Ceremony two weeks ago, then chilled for the rest of the day, had lunch with the family then hung out at home. The next day, we got ready for the wedding reception and went to party. I will be honest, it was a blur, all my buddies got me wasted worse than I have ever been. I remember most of went on, but lets just say I had a hard time recovering… But I did make it through and felt fine for the debarkation of our ship the following day.

The week long cruise went by pretty fast… Puerto Villarta is always a nice place to go, almost a second home to me. Mazatlan was not as horrible as last time I visited, but I am just not a fan of that place, it is too old and too ghetto. Cabo San Lucas is definitely a nice place to go, built up so much more than it was last time I visited, the only issue is it is the shortest day of the trip on port, so it is hard to really get around and see everything. The last full day / night at see was a killer, choppy water, crappy weather, cabin fever and the longing for home was overwhelming.

Now that we are back in reality, we do not want to be here. Funny how that works, right? Heh… But seriously, when I was gone, I ended up being replaced at my new job, fuckin shame… But they did move me to the web development end of the company as the Lead Web Developer. I am happy about this because it is a nice, truly needed change. I have been burnt out working directly in the IT field for maybe two years now, so this is a blessing. I guess owning a businesses really just killed the fun of it for me, to an extent. Too many asshats who do not want to pay; it makes you feel like you are pretty worthless. So +1 to the world of fuck faces… Anyway, I am stoked to be able to change up my official title and area of work but at the same time still get paid what I need in order to survive.

Christmas is almost here, along with a few deadlines for projects pending. So this is crunch / stress time for me, wish me luck.

Rapid Changes, For the Best

So I have been busy phasing myself out of my business / partner situation for the past couple weeks because I accepted a job offer that I received through a good friend. The position met all my requirements to leave my three years of trying to build a business for a steady income, excellent benefits and a comfortable workplace.

I had the pleasure of being trained by the previous IT Manager for the past week or so, it really went well, he was very thorough, answered all questions and even said I can call him for help if I am stuck. I find that commitment near and dear to me because I would do the same for someone else who would be transitioning in to my position. So my position is Director of Information Technology and I get to manage a network of 60+ users (and growing). My first official full day of work is this coming Monday and it is going to be a trip I am sure, but I am excited for it, and I am going to work my ass off.

Next Friday Cindy and I will be getting married at the court house then we are having a small party with family on Saturday to celebrate. Afterwards we will be going on our much anticipated honeymoon / vacation cruise, we are stoked for it!

So yeah, lots of stuff going on but all good.

So In a Month…

I will be getting married to Cindy, on our 5 year anniversary. It is exciting! We have been through a lot… The good, bad and the ugly, but in the end everything has worked out to our benefit and only made us stronger. We are getting married in the Court on the Friday and having a small, family only reception on the Saturday

After we get married and have our reception we are going on a 7-day cruise, the Mexican Riviera. I have been on it before with my family and it was a blast; we did not do much but it was still really cool. This time, since it is just Cindy and I, we are planning on taking advantage of a great deal of the on-board activitiesand we even signed up for some onshore activities to see more of the areas of Mexico we will be visiting. The cities we will get to see are Puerto Villarta, Mazatlan and Cabo San Lucas. I am really looking forward to all of this because it will let me focus on life, rather than business and all the bureaucracy and asshole (unpaying) customer bullshit.

Anyway, that is the news.
